Maintenance contracts to meet The Workplace Health, Safety and Welfare Regulations 1992

Planned maintenance contracts with regular scheduled visits are important to maintain standards of safety and reliability, and to help prolong the operational life of industrial doors and shutters. This helps to increase site efficiency by reducing downtime due to breakdowns or damage that could be avoided.

The Workplace Health, Safety and Welfare Regulations 1992 require that all powered workplace equipment has scheduled maintenance and the frequency of visits (usually 2 or 4 visits per year) can be determined by the age and condition of the equipment, the volume of traffic, and the environment in which the door is being used.

Job Management for single sites to national contracts

Our maintenance contracts cover single sites with single doors to national contracts with multiple sites and multiple door types from many different manufacturers.

Where required, a site meeting with the appointed job manager is held to review the contract, confirm the assets, to determine site restrictions and hazards, and plan dates for the visits. Visits and contract renewals are scheduled into our job management software for easy and reliable administration.

Unique asset identification & traceability

All doors receive a unique asset number sticker which enables easy identification and traceability of all works carried out. All findings are recorded on a maintenance report form, a copy of which is left on site so that appropriate precautions can be taken on any asset that requires repair. A formal quotation with costs for any remedial works is submitted following the visit.

Door Hardware Federation best practise

Our DHF (Door Hardware Federation) membership is the industry standard for industrial door and roller shutter providers with their ‘Code of Practice CP 1006 for the Repair and Maintenance of Industrial and Commercial Doors’ identifying best practice. Our Maintenance Schedules and Reports are also based on the ‘DHF Standard TS 004 for Maintenance & Repair of Doors & Shutters’.
